Regular Domestic Cleaning vs Deep Cleaning Fully Explained

When you need your house cleaned by a professional domestic cleaner – the first thing you would do is ask a friend to recommend a cleaner or hit the internet and research to find the best domestic cleaning company to carry out the job well, and of course at a reasonable price.

On the other hand, many people who do inquire about hiring a domestic cleaner, do not fully understand the concept between regular domestic cleaning and one-off deep cleaning, especially in terms of the rate difference. Many people who do phone us here at `The Shoreditch Cleaners` assume that a one-time deep clean is the same process and method as regular domestic cleaning, and, therefore, should be the same rate, - but it must be acknowledged, it doesn’t work that way.

Regular Cleaning Fully Explained

As the name donates – regular cleaning means a cleaner will visit the property that needs cleaning either weekly, fortnightly or monthly. This type of domestic cleaning service is usually charged at an hourly rate of between £12 and £15 for a one-bed property, and most cleaning companies will charge you a minimum booking fee of 2 or 3 hours.

Please note that doesn’t mean that the cleaner who is carrying out your regular cleaning will be at your home for that period either. Some cleaners may be finished much sooner than the 2-3-hour booking guide, but the minimum booking fee would still stand.

Regular cleaning is intended to help you maintain the cleanliness of your home to a certain level. Think about what you would do every week to clean your home? To name a few, vacuuming, dusting, mopping floors, tidying the house, cleaning the kitchen and bathroom, emptying the bins etc. in hindsight, general household chores.

This is what regular cleaning means! Not on a one-time basis, but at regular cleaning intervals. All these household cleaning tasks don’t take too long to complete; but they are vital for maintaining the cleanliness around your home as well as keeping away debris, dust, dirt and germs.

Deep Cleaning Fully Explained

Now you know what a regular clean means, it’s now time to explain a one-off deep clean.

Deep cleaning is more expensive than regular cleaning because it entails a lot more labour to remove deep-seated dirt and grime from the home.

A deep clean is only done once or twice a year and is usually carried out by two cleaners or a team of cleaners. A deep clean is usually charged at a flat rate (some cleaning companies may differ) which depends on the size of your property and its cleaning condition.

The average price for a deep clean for a one-bed property in the London area could be anything between (£120 - £140). A deep clean usually covers all areas that regular cleaning does not.

For example, removing limescale and soap scum from bathtubs. Cleaning and descaling shower heads, taps, kitchen tiles, bathroom tiles and cleaning inside and outside of the kitchen cupboards. Cleaning kitchen appliances such as the oven and glass oven door, microwave, fridge, washing machine, kitchen worktops, removing deep-seated dirt and grime etc.

More deep clean areas to consider:

· Washing and Wiping all Skirting boards and doors and door frames in all rooms

· Washing the inside of windows

· Sweeping, vacuuming, mopping of all floors

As demonstrated, deep cleaning involves much more work than a regular clean and would require much more work to get a professional job done well. It is for this reason that you pay more when you hire a deep-cleaning-service.

What cleaning service do I need?

When you’re ready to hire your domestic cleaning service, you may wonder what type of cleaning you would need. In most cases, if your home is relatively clean and fairly tidy, but you have not got the time to keep on top of your household cleaning tasks, then a regular cleaning service may suit you.

On the other hand, if you find that your home is building up with too much dirt and grime or if you want a spring clean for your home, but don’t have the time or knowledge to do this yourself, then a deep cleaning service may be better suited to your home cleaning requirements.

If you’re still unsure, it may be a good idea to speak with us here at `The Shoreditch Cleaners` to determine which option is right for your cleaning needs. Doing so will help ensure you get the highest level of cleanliness for your home.
